volver y seguir

Volver y seguir “to return in order to move forward” reconnects with the emotional freedom and instinctive comfort of José-Miguel Figueroa Ortiz’s childhood in Ecuador. The collection draws on memories and domestic intimacy through reinterpreted childhood garments. Distorted proportions, draped volumes and protective forms turn the silhouettes into refuges.

Rather than treating the return to the inner child as nostalgia, the project sees it as a way of recovering a sense of grounding from which to move forward. Memory, protection and transformation come together in a wardrobe shaped around the feeling of home.
