Entre réappropriation et nature morte contemporaine, la collection déplace le regard vers l’envers de la célébration et vers ce qui reste lorsque l’événement est passé. La bougie supplémentaire du titre évoque aussi le passage du temps : année après année, elle accompagne le glissement de la douceur de l’enfance vers une conscience plus aiguë de l’âge. +1 fait ainsi de l’éphémère une matière à observer et à conserver.
+1 begins when the party is over: crumpled wrapping paper, tangled ribbons and packaging destined to disappear. These remains become the very structure of the garments, transformed into material, volume and construction.
Between appropriation and contemporary still life, the collection redirects attention towards the reverse side of celebration and what remains once the event has passed. The extra candle in the title also evokes the passing of time: year after year, it marks the shift from the sweetness of childhood towards a sharper awareness of age. +1 turns the ephemeral into something to observe and preserve.
