L’HEURE BLEUE
Connaissez-vous l’heure bleue ? C’est heure éphémère et crépusculaire où le temps se fige, la mer est d’huile, le bleu du ciel est si profond qu’il se confond avec le bleu de la mer Méditerranée. Cette atmosphère presque hors du temps représente le sentiment de plénitude que je ressens dans la petite principauté de Monaco, au cœur de la French Riviera, pays de mes origines familiales. Entre les traditions princières, la belle époque, le légendaire glamour monégasque, le mythique Grand Prix, mais aussi les toutes nouvelles constructions futuristes de la principauté, continuellement en transformation, ma collection est le juste milieu entre la tradition et la nouveauté que l’on ressent au cœur de ce pays. Cette collection est un subtil mélange de glamour et de modernité, elle est inspirée de la garde-robe de mon arrière-grand-mère lors de sa participation au Concours d’Élégance automobile de 1950. On y retrouve bien sûr l’attitude de la princesse Grace Kelly, au vestiaire similaire à celui de ma grand-mère. On y devine aussi toutes les traditions sportives, comme les inspirations du Grand Prix de Monaco des années 50 et du Yachting. Enfin, le côté futuriste de l’architecture des nouveaux gratte-ciels de la principauté est aussi retravaillé dans cette collection. Pour conclure, ma collection de bachelor est un moyen de montrer la vie quotidienne véritable dans ce pays, entre le côté glamour traditionnel et le côté très sportif, futuriste, jeune, convivial, culturel et chargé d’histoire. Mon défi est d’associer au mieux ces différentes facettes pour créer une collection pleine de fraîcheur, qui donnera une image plus neuve, décontractée et réaliste de la principauté.
Do you know the blue hour? It is an ephemeral period of twilight when time stands still, the sea is oily, the blue of the sky so deep that it merges with the blue of the Mediterranean Sea… This almost timeless atmosphere represents the feeling of plenitude that I feel in the small principality of Monaco, in the heart of the French Riviera, the land of my family origins. Between the royal traditions, the belle époque, the legendary glamour, the mythical Grand Prix and the brand-new futuristic constructions of the constantly changing principality, my collection strikes a balance between tradition and novelty that one feels in the heart of this country. This collection is a subtle blend of glamour and modernity, inspired by my great-grandmother’s wardrobe from her participation in the 1950 Concours d’Elegance Automobile. The attitude of Princess Grace Kelly, whose wardrobe was similar to my grandmother’s, is of course evident. The event also showcases sporting traditions, such as the inspiration of the Monaco Grand Prix of the 1950s and of yachting. Finally, the futuristic side of the architecture of the principality’s modern skyscrapers is also reworked in this collection. To conclude, my Bachelor’s collection is a way to show daily life in this country, from traditional glamour and history on one hand to a sporty, futuristic, young, friendly and cultural look on the other. My challenge is to combine these different facets in the best possible way to create a vibrant collection, which will give a newer, more relaxed and realistic image of the principality.
